As you're setting up your league's scoring and settings, you'll find that you can set options for playoff start week and trade deadline among other things.

But what about the overall season breakdown? How long does fantasy basketball last?

We will be updating this post for a 2021 league timeline once there are official dates and schedules.

Below is how we handled the 2020 season:

For the 2020 season, we had a 20-week season, including fantasy playoffs. So if your fantasy team makes it to the championship, you played all 20 weeks. If you fail to make it that far, you may have played fewer.

Below was our schedule for each weekly matchup in the 2020 season:

Week 1 - 12/22-12/27
Week 2 - 12/28-1/3
Week 3 - 1/4-1/10
Week 4 - 1/11-1/17
Week 5 - 1/18-1/24
Week 6 - 1/25-1/31
Week 7 - 2/1-2/7
Week 8 - 2/8-2/14
Week 9 - 2/15-2/21
Week 10 - 2/22-2/28
Week 11 - 3/1-3/4
*All-Star Break 3/5-3/10*
Week 12 - 3/11-3/14
Week 13 - 3/15-3/21
Week 14 - 3/22-3/28
Week 15 - 3/29-4/4
Week 16 - 4/5-4/11
Week 17 - 4/12-4/18
Week 18 - 4/19-4/25
Week 19 - 4/26-5/2
Week 20 - 5/3-5/9

All-Star Break

With the NBA planning on having six days off for the All-Star Break, we will have Weeks 11 and 12 treated as normal. Every team has one or two scheduled games for those weeks, so your decisions on which game to start a player may be a tad easier over that span.

End of Season

Week 20 ends on May 9th, but the NBA regular season will go further. We've made a decision to omit a possible Week 21 due to the possibility of many players resting for the play-in tournament and playoffs. Additionally, there may be rescheduled games that are moved to later, but we plan on ending the fantasy season after Week 20 regardless.
