How to avoid special teams points from doubling up

When you get to this section of your scoring settings, it's important to carefully consider the point values you're entering.

It's very easy to set these up quickly, and then after Week 1, wonder why somebody earned 12 points for a touchdown when you wanted it to be 6.

Special Teams Player vs. Special Teams Defense

There are two similar, but very different sections in the scoring options.

Special Teams Player - this section is specific to an individual player. This is where you would want to award points for your runningback or wide receiver if they scored a Special Teams TD. You could also award points for those yards here.

Special Teams Defense - this section is specific to the entire team defense. Since it's not the actual defense on the field, this option allows you to add on and award points for a team making plays on punts, kicks, and fumbles.

Example: You own the Denver Broncos defense. They typically would not get points for punt return yardage. You have the option of adding that here.
