What are Sleeper Picks Competitions?

A guide to how Sleeper Picks Competitions work: leaderboards, prizes, and how to join.

Written by Sleeper HQ

Overview

Sleeper Picks Competitions are limited-time leaderboard events where users compete to earn the highest total net profit from their Picks entries during the competition period. Top finishers on the leaderboard win prizes.

  • Open to all Picks — both Player Picks and Team Picks entries count toward your leaderboard total

  • Opt-in required — joining a Competition makes some of your profile information public on the leaderboard (see below)

How to join

  1. Tap the Competition banner in the Picks lobby

  2. Review the Competition-specific rules

  3. Tap GOT IT to opt-in

Once you've opted in, net profit from your Picks entries during the Competition window will be tracked automatically.

You only need to opt-in once per Competition.

How the leaderboard works

  • The leaderboard ranks the top 100 users globally by net realized profit during the Competition window

  • Net realized profit = total realized payouts minus total entry costs for graded picks entries

    • made during the Competition window; and

    • graded 24 hours after Competition ends.

    • Entries made before the competition window or are graded more than 24 hours after the Competition ends do not count on the leaderboard.

  • Both graded Player Picks and Team Picks entries count toward your total realized payouts

  • The leaderboard updates daily — your rank may not reflect Picks graded in the last few hours

  • Net profit is only displayed publicly for the top 100 ranked users

    • If you're outside the top 100, your profit is not shown on the leaderboard

      • Net profit is for graded Player Picks and Team Picks entries

Prizes

Top finishers on the leaderboard can win Player Picks playthrough credits or cash prizes.

Competition details shown in-app include:

  • Prize amounts

  • Prize type, i.e. Player Picks playthrough credits or withdrawable credit (cash prizes)

  • Payout structure

How ties work

If two or more users tie for a paid leaderboard prize rank:

  • The prizes for those prize ranks are combined

  • The total is split evenly among the tied users

  • The next prize shifts to the following rank

Example

  • Two users tie for 1st place

    • 1st place prize: $1,000; 2nd place prize: $500

  • The combined $1,500 prize pool is split evenly

    • Both users receive $750

  • The next-ranked user receives the 3rd place prize

Prize delivery

After the Competition ends:

  • Winners are notified in-app

  • Prizes are credited to the winners’ Sleeper account balances

What becomes public when you join

By joining a Competition, you agree to make the following information public:

  • Your Sleeper username

  • Your net realized profit during the Competition window — only if you finish in the top 100 globally

This information is visible to anyone viewing the Competition leaderboard.

Direct messages (DMs) from other users

  • Reject any DM request — the sender cannot send follow-up messages

  • Block users who you've accepted requests from at any time

Why is opt-in required?

Showing your profit and Picks activity publicly is something we want you to choose — not something we do by default. That's why Competitions are opt-in only.

Eligibility

  • You must have a Sleeper account in good standing

  • You must be eligible to play Picks in your region

  • Sleeper reserves the right to disqualify users from a Competition or withhold prizes for fraud, manipulation, collusion, or any violation of Sleeper's Terms of Service

After a Competition ends

When a Competition ends:

  • The final leaderboard is locked and ranked by net realized profit at the close of the Competition window.

  • Top finishers are notified via push notification and prizes are credited to their account balance

  • The Competition view stays available for a short time after the Competition ends, so you can view the final results. Refer to the Competition information in-app to learn how long a Competition is running.

New Competitions are run periodically.

Check the Sleeper app for banners and notifications.
