What is NFL Injury Insurance?
Sleeper’s NFL Injury Insurance is designed to protect certain picks when a player is forced out of a game early due to injury.
Injury Insurance applies only when all of the following conditions are met:
The player is removed from the game in the first half
The removal is due to an injury reported by an official team source or an ejection
The player does not return in the second half
The player is an offensive NFL player
Important notes:
Defensive players are not eligible
NFL preseason picks are not eligible
Injury Insurance does not apply to benchings or coaching decisions
How Injury Insurance Affects Picks
MORE Picks
If your contest includes a MORE pick on a player who qualifies for Injury Insurance:
The pick will be voided and treated as a DNP (Did Not Play)
LESS Picks
If your contest includes a LESS pick on a player who qualifies for Injury Insurance:
The pick will be graded as a win if the player’s recorded stat finishes below their projection
If the Player Hits Before Injury
A MORE pick will be graded as a win if the player reaches their projection before leaving the game
Contest Outcomes After a Void
After Injury Insurance is applied:
If your contest still includes at least 2 players from multiple teams, it will be graded normally with an adjusted payout, as if the voided pick was not included
If your contest no longer includes at least 2 players from multiple teams, the entire entry will be canceled and refunded
Please allow up to 48 hours after the completion of a game for contests to be updated.

FAQ
Q: I chose a player who only played on Special Teams. Will they be voided?
A: No. If a player participates in any play, they will be graded as normal — whether on offense, defense, or Special Teams — unless they are removed due to injury in the first half and do not return in the second half.
Q: My defensive player was injured in the first half and didn’t return. Why wasn’t the pick voided?
A: Injury Insurance applies only to offensive players for NFL contests.
Q: My player didn’t play in the second half because they were benched. Why wasn’t Injury Insurance applied?
A: Injury Insurance applies only when a player leaves due to an injury reported by an official team source. It does not apply to benchings, coaching decisions, or any other reason.
