What is WNBA Injury Insurance?
Sleeper’s WNBA Injury Insurance helps protect your player picks contest entries when a player is forced to leave a game early due to injury or ejection.
Injury Insurance applies only when all of the following conditions are met:
The player is removed from the game in the first half
The removal is due to an injury or ejection
The player does not return in the second half
How Injury Insurance affects your picks
MORE picks
If you pick MORE on a player who meets the Injury Insurance criteria, that pick will be voided and treated as a DNP (Did Not Play).
LESS picks
If you pick LESS on a player who meets the Injury Insurance criteria, the pick will be graded as a win if the player’s recorded stat is below the projection.
How contests are settled
After Injury Insurance is applied:
If your contest still includes at least two players from multiple teams, it will be graded with an adjusted payout, as if the voided pick was never included.
If your contest no longer includes at least two players from multiple teams, the entire entry will be canceled and refunded.
Please allow up to 48 hours after the completion of a game for contests to be updated.
Additional Injury Insurance details
If you pick MORE and the player hits their projection before being injured, the pick will be graded as a win.
Injury Insurance does not apply to players:
Benched due to performance or a coach’s decision
Removed for reasons other than an injury reported by an official team source
Removed due to foul trouble or fouling out
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I picked a player who received limited minutes due to injury recovery. Can that pick be voided?
A: No. Injury Insurance only applies if a player is removed from the game due to injury and does not play in the second half. It does not apply to minutes restrictions.
Q: My player fouled out. Will Injury Insurance apply?
A: No. Injury Insurance is not applied when a player is removed from the game due to accumulating six personal fouls.
Q: My player only played briefly at the end of a blowout. Will they be marked as DNP?
A: No. If a player logs any playing time, the pick will be graded as normal—regardless of how long they played—except in cases where the player was removed due to injury and did not return in the second half.
